Thai Government to reduce crime rates in six months

BANGKOK, Jan 10 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has announced that his government plans to reduce crime rates in the country by 20 per cent over the next six months.

Abhisit said to achieve the goal, the government will install more close-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) in remote spots and increase police patrols in such areas to prevent crime, along with other measures.

The Democrat premier noted that the plan is part of the his people's agenda for 2011 he announced yesterday (Jan 10) to improve quality of life and living conditions the Thai public. (TNA)
