Supreme Leader: Leaders of post-election riots were foreigners' puppets
Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei says the leaders of post-election riots were puppets of foreign conspirators and that the Iranian people successfully withstood them, dealing them a blow.
Addressing thousands of people from Qom province, Ayatollah Khamenei said public insight and proper recognition of situation, sense of commitment and responsibility, and timely presence on the scene of people were three factors behind the success of people in passing such divine tests, guaranteeing the spiritual and financial progress of the nation.
'Having successfully passed many divine tests over the past 32 years, the Iranian nation is now more powerful than ever and continues its path of progress more vigorously and vigilantly in order to achieve prosperity and perfection,' said the paramount Leader.
The paramount Leader said dimensions of last year's plot have not yet been fully recognized and more efforts should be made to precisely analyze the last year's events because the enemies had made precise calculations.
Man should not turn into puppets of enemy and should change his course of action immediately after he finds his choice to be wrong, added Ayatollah Khamenei.
The main factors behind last year's sedition were foreigners who are trying to remove the Islamic Republic and change the Islamic establishment, said the Supreme Leader, adding that enemies mainly targeted the Islamic Republic system in a bid to replace it with one of their choice.
Ayatollah Khamenei said lofty position of the Iranian nation, its success on domestic fronts and its influence both regionally and globally is all the result of its successfully passing different tests.
Enemy has done its best to pile up economic pressure, launch smear propaganda campaign and make other governments and nations afraid of the Islamic Republic system in order to impede progress of the Islamic establishment but to no avail, said the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei also touched on failure of the US policies in Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq, saying, 'Americans consider the Islamic Republic of Iran as the main factor behind their failure but the fact is that their failure is due to the vigilance and right policies of nations.'
Iran's strong influence and power in the region and among nations are the result of its spiritual might because the Islamic establishment has awakened nations, said Ayatollah Khamenei, adding that under such conditions, the US concentrated all its efforts on preventing formation of a popular government in Iraq but to its dismay a government was established in that country thanks to public vigilance.
Ayatollah Khamenei also invited people including the youth, clergymen, academics and officials, to maintain their vigilance under such conditions./end
