Thai PM vows to continue promoting development and justice in restive South

BANGKOK, Jan 9 (TNA) - In attempts to restore peace in violence-plagued southern border provinces, Thai Prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Sunday his government would continue to focus on promoting development and justice.
The Thai premier insisted that development projects for the region are making progress and many areas are benefiting greatly.
As for justice, he said, the government is lifting the imposition of special laws in the areas where situations are alleviated.
Besides, Abhisit noted that the government is encouraging misled people to turn themselves in and undergo training instead of being prosecuted.
The prime minister expects the training to start this March. He believes the policy to put politics before military should be a sustainable solution.(TNA)
