Man dies in custody in WA

A 51-year-old man has died in custody at the Kalgoorlie watch house in Western
Australia's Goldfields region, police say.
He was arrested on Friday evening and at 3.35am (WST) on Saturday, was checked by
officers and found to be unwell, a police statement said.
Officers administered first aid and CPR, and called for an ambulance, but when
medics arrived they determined the man was dead.
A full police investigation is underway by detectives from the WA Police Internal
Affairs Unit and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The identity of the deceased would not be released for cultural reasons, police said.
