Salehi: Invitation to inspect facilities is for transparency

Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA – Foreign Ministry caretaker Ali-Akbar Salehi said here on Friday that the invitation extended to representatives of many countries to visit Iran's nuclear facilities is in line with the policy of transparency.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of ceremonies marking the 40th day of martyrdom of Iranian scientist Dr. Majid Shahriari, Salehi said , 'Previously similar invitations were made and as a result of which, envoys of many countries paid a visit to our country to inspect its nuclear facilities.'
'Now on the eve of talks with the P5+1 and as a gesture of goodwill, we have announced times and again that representatives of certain international communities and a number of countries can inspect Iran's nuclear installations,' he added.
This, he noted, can not be interpreted as invitation from a specific country, rather it is invitation from international organizations such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the European Union.
Ambassador of a country might visit the nuclear facilities but the fact is he represents the collections sharing similar view, he added./end
