Thai PM airs message on National Children’s Day
BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has emphasised that Thai youths are key to national development in the future, urging the younger Thai generations to be “prudent, thoughtful and socially responsible” as stated in his slogan for the National Children's Day 2011, which falls on January 8.
The Democrat premier said that the slogan came from a fact that Thai youths need to be well-prepared in order to live and grow well in the present globalisation age.
The prime minister noted that the Thai government's national reform master plan is, therefore, focused on improving quality of life of local youths.
Abhisit acknowledged when the national reform plan is implemented, equal opportunities for Thai youths will surface, from the stage of pregnancy until adolescents, covering upbringing, education and social support needed for them. (TNA)
