Thai Commerce Ministry approves palm oil price hike
BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Commerce's vegetable oil price sub-committee approved on Friday a retail price rise in palm cooking oil to 47 baht a bottle, from 38 baht a bottle, taking effect from January 8.
The move followed the Palm Oil Policy Committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban, endorsed yesterday (Jan 6) a proposed plan to import 30,000 tonnes of raw palm oil from Malaysia to ease shortages of the palm oil on the domestic market. (TNA)
