VICE SPEAKER MEETS CHINA'S AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A Parliament Speaker of Mongolia G.Batkhuu received Tuesday Mr. Yu Hongyao, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Mongolia, due to his returning home.
Beginning the meeting, the Vice Speaker has underlined that China "is still playing a main role in the external trade of Mongolia, and has been topping here in making investments in the last ten years". Mentioning about some important events such as visits of Mongolia's President and the Prime Minister to China and inter-parliamentary meetings and contracts, G.Batkhuu has said that new steps have been made in the bilateral political relations with some high level visits paid by the Chinese officials.
“China is the largest partner of Mongolia in trade as well as the biggest investor. In other words, the friendly relations and cooperation between our countries have reached a high level, and Mongolia wants to forward the ties,” Batkhuu has stressed.
China is the closest market for Mongolia in exploiting mineral resources, he went on adding that China can collaborate with Mongolia in the mining sector introducing latest and environmentally-friendly techniques and technologies and effectively investing. He has expressed a hope that the cooperation and works will widen in future. “Our countries have a nice opportunity to boost mutually beneficial cooperation,” G.Batkhuu has said, and expressed a confidence that the relations and cooperation in trade and economic spheres will deepen as well.
In response, the Chinese Ambassador has pointed out that his country "is required to cooperate with Mongolia in the transit-transportation, mining, and export of agricultural products". He thinks that the Mongolians are kind and friendly, he said adding that upon returning home he will make all efforts to develop the China-Mongolia relations. He is confident that his successor will do great works in Mongolia, he has said.
The bilateral inter-parliamentary ties have intensified starting from 1990. The Mongolia-China inter-parliamentary group was established in 1993 at the State Great Khural. Renewed in 2008, this group with some 40 members is being chaired by the Vice Speaker G.Batkhuu.
