19 Australians are Lotto millionaires

Nineteen Australians have rung in the New Year as millionaires after a lottery win,
including a couple who were being forced to sell their home.
The newly-made millionaires, from across the country, took home the shares of $31
million from the New Year's Eve Megadraw.
One winner, from Bondi Junction in Sydney's eastern suburbs, said the win meant her
family was no longer in dire financial straits.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said the $1.6 million winning ticket she
bought for her husband's birthday would allow them to keep the family home they were
being forced to sell.
"You can't imagine what this will do for us," she said. "This is the ticket that
just turned our fortune around."
Eight of the winners were from NSW, one from Canberra, three from Victoria, three
from South Australia, two from Queensland and two from Western Australia.
Another winner, a 45-year-old man from Campbelltown in Sydney's west, said the win
would allow him to retire early.
"I never expected to get a call to tell me I'm a millionaire," the man said.
A mother-of-three from Auburn in Sydney's west who also shared in the win said she
was in shock.
"I came to Australia for a better life, I never thought it would turn out this
good," she said.
Each winner received a total of $1,631,578.95.
The winning numbers were 41, 19, 11, 24, 10 and 13 and the supplementary numbers
were 3 and 17.
