8 arrested in connection with Chabahar bombing: Iran`s interior minister

TEHRAN, Dec. 30 (MNA) --Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar announced on Wednesday that 8 terrorists have been arrested in connection with terror attack in the coastal city of Chabahar.

“8 backstage elements of the Chabahar terrorist incident have been arrested,” Najjar told reporters on the sidelines of police conference on anti-drug campaign in Tehran.

On December 15, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device outside a mosque in the southeastern city of Chabahar during a Shia religious ceremony, killing 35 people and injuring more than 100 others.

The terrorist group Jundullah claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Some remaining elements of the terrorist group still use Pakistan’s soil as a safe haven for terrorist operations.

Najjar called on the Islamabad government not to allow the terrorists use the Pakistani territory for terrorist attacks in the border province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

He described terrorism as a scourge on regional nations, saying “The global arrogance and hegemonistic powers use this tool to push forward their plans.”

“The global arrogance tries to undermine the nations’ interests by carrying out various malicious actions,” he added.
