Call on int’l bodies for speedy measures on Asgari’s situation

Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA – Wife of the former Iranian deputy minister Alireza Asgari urged international organizations to take speedy measures to clarify his situation who is reportedly martyred in Zionist regime prisons.
Ziba Ahmadi made the call in reaction to news on her husband’s martyrdom in prison by the Zionist regime.
Talking to IRNA, she said she learnt about the news from the media on Wednesday, noting that according to the same stories a Zionist regime newspaper has disclosed the news.
She called for speedy measures on the part of international and human rights bodies to clarify Asgari’s situation and urged them to make efforts to get him back to his country.
Asgari was abducted Dec. 9, 2006 by American and Zionist regime agents in Turkey.
He formerly served as a deputy to Iranian defense minister.
Earlier, a foreign ministry official, too, had expressed concern about the news.
Deputy Foreign Minister in the Middle East and Commonwealth Affairs, Mohammad Raouf Sheybani said on Tuesday that the Zionist regime action with collaboration of the US in kidnapping Asgari and the latest claim of the Zionist regime propaganda system are a clear sign of state terrorism and will make their responsibility for his health heavier.
He said such behavior indicated the brutal nature of the Zionist regime.
He too called for prompt reaction of international organizations to make Asgari situation clear./end
