OLYMPICS (BADMINTON) - RI'S MARIA KRISTIN BEATS DENMARK'S TINE RASMUSSEN

Jakarta, Aug. 11 (ANTARA) - Indonesian shuttler Maria Kristin defeated sixth seed Tine Rasmussen from Denmark 18-21, 21-19, 21-14 in the women's singles match of the Beijing Olympics 2008 at the Beijing University of Technology, on Monday.

The victory has assured Kristin of a ticket to the Beijing Olympics' badminton quarter-finals.

Last Saturday, on the first day of the Olympics, Kristin, a finalist in this year's Uber Cup, beat Germany's Juliane Schenk 18-21, 21-18, 22-20 .
