Malaysian Foreign Minister sends condolence to Thailand over bus crash

BANGKOK, Dec 28 (TNA) - The Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anifah Aman has sent his condolences to the Thai government over the bus crash near Ipoh in Malaysia on December 20 that killed 26 Thai people and injured nine others.
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 28) that the letter of condolences was sent to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya and in response the Thai Minister expressed his gratitude for the Malaysian government’s assistance for the Thai government after the accident.
Besides, the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur has informed the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a consulate official already contacted Hat Yai Hospital, the Consulate General in Penang and a border checkpoint to arrange for the return of another injured Thai tourist who has received permission from Malaysian doctors to seek further treatment in Thailand.
At present, one injured Thai tourist remains at Ipoh Hospital in Malaysia. The Thai embassy in Malaysia has contacted an insurance company to demand its payment for the treatment of the injured, the ministry said.(TNA)
