Official source denies reports that Saada displaced people remain in
SAADA, Aug 11 (Saba) - An official source at the Local Authority of
the province of Saada has denied reports that large numbers of
Saada displaced people still live in camps.
The source confirmed these people were back home as president Ali
Abdullah Saleh declared an end to military operations in province.
A few numbers of these displaced people are still at camps waiting
for arrangements that will facilitate their return home, the source
noted, adding the government is making heavy efforts to provide
them with necessary aids until they are home.
The provincial local authority also makes it easy for either local
or international organizations interested in providing help to
these people.
Local media said that the International Committee of the Red Cross
(ICRC) announced that many of Saada displaced people remain in the
camps, reports the government refuses.
On July 17, president Ali Abdullah Saleh announced the end of war
in Saada.
And later the rebels sent a letter to president Saleh confirming
their loyalty to republic and acceptance of president Saleh's terms
for an end to a four-year conflict between the government troops and
the Houthi rebels in the northern province of Saada and that cost
thousands of lives.
