Saudi Customs Department issues statement

Riyadh, August 11, SPA -- An official source at the Customs
Department of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stated that 4.5 million
narcotic tablets, 95 kg of hashish, more than 2 kg of pure heroin and
more than 19,000 bottles of wine were discovered and seized at land,
air and sea customs ports during the period from June to July, 2008.

The source pointed out that this achievement came as a result of the
acumen of customs officials which contributed to detecting smuggling
attempts. Also, the fruitful cooperation with the Directorate General
of Anti-Narcotics has had a role in discovering such illegal
materials.
