Salehi: Iran-Russia diplomatic consultations to benefit region
Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA – Foreign Ministry caretaker Ali-Akbar Salehi said here on Sunday that growing diplomatic consultations between Iran and Russia as two influential neighbors in the region, would leave favorable impact on the region.
Salehi told a senior Russian Federal Drug Control Service chief Viktor Ivanov that Tehran and Moscow have good cooperation in nuclear domain. 'We hope for consolidated and good ties in other fields too,' he noted.
Frank dialogue favoring the two sides can help improve political interactions in a way that would benefit the two parties, he added.
As for Bushehr nuclear power plant, which start operation in the next two months and joint Iranian nationwide power grid, Salehi said the event will help upgrade cooperation with Russia in nuclear energy field.
Ivanov in turn said his country is prepared for cooperation with Iran in drugs campaign./end
