Iran's Parliament Speaker greets Christian couterparts on New Year
Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday felicitated all his Christian counterparts on the auspicious birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and the ouset of the New Year.
In a message, Larijani congratulated the auspicious occasion to world Christians as well as Iranian Assyrians, saying that the world is in dire need of spirituality, ethics and justice and divine religions are true supporters of ethics, spirituality and justice in the world.
Those who sow seeds of discord among followers of divine religions and fan the flames of disputes among Muslims and Christians under various pretexts such as crusade war, have in fact misused their religions as an instrument for their adventurism in the globe,' he said.
Jesus Christ like other prophets was the true messenger of peace, brotherhood and justice and world Muslims expect the world Christians to persuade their governments to abide by the lofty preaching of their prophet and help promote peace and friendship and fight tyranny worldwide, Larijani stressed.
Iranian religious minorities are leading their life in peace, he said.
The Iranian religious minorities have their own representatives in Majlis playing active role in their country’s legislative body, the Majlis Speaker concluded./end
