Pakistani minister for media interaction with Iran

Islamabad, Dec 25, IRNA -- Pakistan’s Information Minister Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira Fridy called for more media interaction with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Kaira was talking to Iran’s Presidential Advisor on Media and Managing Director of IRNA, Ali Akbar Javanfekr, here in his office.

Javanfekr arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday on a four-day visit at the invitation of Pakistani government for talks to enhance cooperation in the media field.

Javanfekr also held a meeting with the Pakistani information minister and exchanged views on ways to further strengthen relations between the media organizations.

Secretary Information Masoor Suhail and other senior Pakistani officials and Iranian ambassador Masha’Allah Shakeri
also attended the meeting.

Both sides agreed to work for boosting media relations to promote better understanding and frustrate designs of the elements who create hatred among the two nations.

They expressed satisfaction at the current level of cooperation of the media of the two countries and vowed to further increase this cooperation.

Pakistani Minister welcomed the visit of Javanfekr and said Pakistan holds the people of Iran and its leaders in high esteem.

Javanfekr will also visit International Islamic University on Friday and will address a gathering of teachers and students of the university and will reply to their questions.

He will visit the official news agency Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC) and Pakistan Television Corporation Headquarters (PTVC). Both sides will discuss ways to cooperate.
IRNA and APP is likely to sign the revised agreement of exchange of news.

On December, 25th, he will visit the eastern city of Lahore, the capital of Punjab. He is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif. The Iranian delegation will visit the office of leafing newspaper ‘Nawa-e-Waqt’./end
