Yemeni- Palestinian premiers hold talk session

SANA'A, Aug. 09 (Saba)- Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and his
Palestinian counterpart Sallam Fayyadh held talks on Saturday on
Palestinian latest conditions.

The talks dealt with brotherly cooperation between the two peoples
and its future horizons in different fields, including setting up
joint committee to be in charge of improving and enhancing this
cooperation.

The two prime ministers discussed latest situations in Palestinian
territories under current Israeli policies of siege and expanding
settlements, as well situations in Arab area and security and
socially developments, namely in Iraq and Somalia.

"Our meeting today clearly expresses joint desire in enhancing
mutual relations between Yemen and Palestine. It also affirms joint
keenness on start establishing strong economic and trade relations
serving interests of the two peoples," said Mujawar.

He called on brotherly and friendly countries to help and support
brothers in Palestine, affirming that these efforts will be fruitful
in creating conditions for realizing economic stability in the
territories.

Mujawar also talked about foreign policy of Yemen and its attitudes
toward several regional and international issues, affirming that
Yemen always seeks to realize security and stability on Arab World
level. "On regional and international level, Yemen supports all
efforts exerted for achieving Middle East's security and stability
for making it an area away off all international and regional
conflicts."


"Concerning Palestinian conditions, we express our regret for
returning unjustified tensions and conflicts between brothers in
Fatah and Hamas movements that serve interests of the Zionist
enemy," added Mujawar who renewed Yemen's call for pressing Israeli
entity to respect peace efforts in the region. For his part, Fayyad
talked about Palestinian interior conditions under Israeli
occupation saying:" The situation is very difficult because of
stressed occupation and siege in Gaza and more in West Bank, let
alone Israeli security and settlement practices in different
territories."

He indicated that the Palestinian Authority is seeking, through
negations, to realize the Palestinian project for ending Israeli
occupation and establishing the independent state on all territories
occupied in 1967, affirming that there are many difficulties facing
this project

For this regard he demanded quartet international parties (who made
the Palestinian road map) and Arab countries to practice pressure on
Israel to commit it to peace process, especially stopping
settlements.

"From this place, in the name of President Abu Mazen, I thank Yemeni
political leadership headed by President Ali Abdullah Saleh for his
vital role Yemen has played for crystallizing the Yemeni initiative
that has met Arab assent after approval in Damascus Summit," he
added.
