BEST JOURNALISTS AND FIGURES NAMED
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On the edge of the New Year, the United Confederation of Mongolian Journalists (UCMJ) is naming the foremost journalists and media organizations. The top ones have been selected in accordance with a decision made by the journalism experts' group.
The prize granting ceremony took place Wednesday in the “Nukht” complex in presence of G.Monkhbayar, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city; D.Battulga, head of the President's Office; other figures. The prizes were handed by T.Baasansure, actig president of the UCMJ and the Director-General of the MONTSAME news agency.
In accordance with the UCMJ Executive Committee, the “Odriin sonin” daily has been selected the best daily newspaper of 2010 for acting as a bridge between the state and the people by covering politics, economics, sciences, arts and cognition, and for publishing critical reports and articles.
The “TV-9” has been selected as the best TV channel for providing people with information and for raising urgent problems issues facing Mongolia's development. The UCMJ has emphasized the TV channel has been just in terms of basic principles of free media and has become a voice of the opposite force.
The Mongolian National Public and Radio and Television have been named the best television and radio of Mongolia of 2010 for contributing to development of Mongolian journalism and for providing all people with information and news. The national public radio has made biggest renovation in its techniques.
The “Mongol Messenger” English newspaper at the MONTSAME news agency has become this year's best media that propagandize Mongolia to the world by covering all features of Mongolia. It is the very first English-language newspaper in Mongolia appeared 20 years ago.
The “Soyombo” newspaper has been named the best one in the journalism sector; the “Khovd News” newspaper--the best local newspaper; the “Leading 101.7 FM” radio--the best FM; the UCMJ's branch in Orkhon aimag--as the best section of branch of journalists.
Foremost people have been announced as well, for example, a deputy editor and journalist of the “Onoodor” Sh.Davaadorj has become the best newspaper journalist of 2010; a journalist of the “Ulaanbaatar” radio N.Badamjav--the best radio journalist; and a journalist of the “TV-5” TV channel M.Amarbayar--the best TV journalist. The UCMJ has announced its best branches--the MONTSAME's one led by B.Elbegzaya and of Orkhon aimag's led by S.Suvdaa.
