Relatives take home bodies of Thais killed in bus crash in Malaysia

BANGKOK, Dec 22 (TNA) - Bodies of Thai travellers who died in a tour-bus crash in Malaysia earlier this week will be flown home Wednesday (Dec 22).
Officials of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, medical staff and relatives of the Thai deceased left Bangkok Wednesday morning via C130 aircraft of the Royal Thai Air Force for Sepang Airport in Ipoh, the capital city of the Perak State in northern Malaysia, where the bodies of the Thai tourists will be identified by their relatives and flown home.
A separate plane carrying the bodies is scheduled to arrive in Bangkok Wednesday evening.
Other Thai tourists who were injured in the bus crash will also fly home later Wednesday.
Chavanont Intarakomalsut, Secretary of Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya, said that he is taking care of the mission and co-ordinating with all parties concerned until the bodies of the Thai tourists are home--as assigned by the Thai foreign minister.
Chavanont acknowledged that the Malaysian Foreign Minister has extended his condolence for relatives of the tragic incident through a phone call to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the bus crash on Monday (Dec 19).
According to official figures, fatalities from the road accident in Malaysia have reached 27, out of a total of 37 people on board the ill-fate bus, with 25 of them identified as Thais and the remaining two as Malaysians. Ten others were wounded with one of them being in critical condition.(TNA)
