      Chinese mainland and Taiwan reach an agreement on cooperation in health care
Hanoi    (VNA) – Chinese mainland and  Taiwan  reached an agreement on cooperation
in health care and pharmaceuticals during talks in Taipei on Dec. 21, according
to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
       
Under the terms of the agreement, both sides will timely inform each other of
infectious diseases, strengthen prevention measures and handling of major
epidemics and enhance cooperation in pharmaceutical research and traditional
medicine.
       
The Chinese mainland delegation was headed by President of the Association for
Relations across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) Chen Yunlin and the Taiwanese, by
Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) Chiang Pin-kung.
       
Chen Yulin said before the talks that the annual meetings between the two sides
would help ensure peace and prosperity across the strait as well as in the region.
   
       
This is the sixth negotiation between SEF and ARATS over the past two years after
they resumed their talks after a nine-year suspension.-Enditem
