Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons: Assad
Berlin, Dec 21, IRNA - Syrian President Bashar Assad on Monday reiterated Iran was not not seeking nuclear weapons.
Speaking with the daily newspaper Bild Zeitung, President Assad said based on all what we know, Iran was not pursuing atomic weapons.
He hailed Iran as a very important country in the region, according to the German-language transcript of the report.
Syria remains a very close political ally of the Islamic Republic of Iran./end
