Indian medicines account for 30% of RF pharmaceutical market-Ivanov
NEW DELHI, December 20 (Itar-Tass) -- The share of Indian-made
pharmaceutical products on the Russian market exceeds 30 percent, Russia's
Deputy Prime Minster Sergei Ivanov said on Monday, summing up the results
of the Russian-Indian trade and investment forum.
"Every third medicine in Russia is of Indian origin. We highly
appreciate the quality of Indian pharmaceuticals," he said.
Russia is offering India to take practical steps to set up joint
production of medicines, the Russian government official said and added
that the two countries have good prospects for cooperation in this area.
The fourth Russian-Indian forum yielded seven cooperation protocols
and agreements. Among these seven, three were in the area of
pharmaceuticals.
According to Ivanov, the forum offered good possibilities to boost
business contacts between the two countries and brought the Russian-Indian
economic cooperation to a new level.
