Qld man stabbed after resisting robbers
A 19-year-old Gold Coast man is in intensive care with stab wounds after refusing to give up his property to a gang of thieves at a bus stop.
The man was sitting at the bus stop on the Gold Coast Highway around 10.15pm (AEST) Friday when an early 1980s Toyota Corolla pulled up with five males inside.
Police say three males got out of the vehicle and confronted the victim, with one ordering him to hand over his belongings.
The 19-year-old man refused and was stabbed in the abdomen.
The group allegedly then stole his wallet and mobile phone before driving off.
Friends of the victim provided first aid until the Queensland Ambulance Service arrived.
He was taken to the Gold Coast Hospital for surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in a stable condition.
The offenders' vehicle was described as a sky blue early 1980s Corolla with gold hub wire mag wheels and green and white Queensland licence plates.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
