Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The 1st Asian Para Games took place December 12-19 in Guangzhou city, China. Some 2,512 athletes from 45 Asian countries have participated in 19 sport events. Mongolia has been represented by 37 athletes.
The national team of Mongolia has been ranked at 24th place by winning two silver and three bronze medals overall. Meanwhile, the host nation--the national team of the People's Republic of China--has won 156 gold, 96 silver and 78 bronze medals.
In the Para Games, two silver medals went to A.Monkhbat, judo of men's 66 kg weight category, and to G.Monkhbaatar, in 800 m hurdles. Bronze medals were grabbed by judoists D.Ganbat (men's 90 kg), M.Ochirkhuyag (men's -100 kg) and P.Bolortuya (women's 52 kg).
At the Games, 20 athletes of six countries have broken world records.

An international master of sports and long-distance runner B.Ser-Od won a gold medal in the Hofu Yomiuri marathon held December 19 in Hofu, Yamaguchi prefecture. He has become the winner of the marathon overcoming the 42 km way within two hours, 14 minutes and 49 seconds.
As informed before, B.Ser-Od won the Brighton marathon held in the Great Britain, and grabbed a bronze medal in the Hong Kong marathon. He also has taken the 10th place in the Berlin marathon.
For these brilliant successes at light athletics sports for Mongolia, B.Ser-Od has been nominated for the “Borte Chono” award, the supreme prize for Mongolian sportspeople.

The “Mongolian Mister-2010” bodybuilding and fitness competitions took place last Saturday in the Central Cultural Palace.
Organized by the Mongolian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (MBFF), the competitions have been held in categories of men's 60, 65, 70, -75 and +75, seniors' master class, and women's model fitness class with participation of bodybuilding sportspeople from 18 clubs.
L.Bayankhuu has become the absolute champion of the competitions. He won a gold medal in the men's +75 contest. Other gold medalists are N.Enkh-Erdene (men's 60 kg), T.Chakhar (65 kg), Kh.Enkhtulga (70 kg), and Z.Monkhbaatar (-75 kg). B.Badamsuren has grabbed gold medals in the both miss fitness and model fitness contests.

The ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mongolia's Chess Federation (MChF) have co-organized a chess competition named after Chin Van Khanddorj, the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
The competition has been held dedicated to the anniversary of the Mongolia's diplomatic service attracting 77 chess players under Swiss system.
A Grand Master B.Khatanbaatar has won gold medal with 8 points followed by Ts.Batchuluun (7.5 points) and D.Sharavdorj (7 points).
