Slovenia, Azerbaijan: friendship society holds first meeting
Vienna, December 18 (AzerTAc).In the Slovenian city of Nova Goritsa the newly set up Slovenia-Azerbaijan Friendship Society held its first meeting. Deputy Mayor of Nova Goritsa Mitia Trtnik and Azerbaijan`s charge-de affaires in Slovenia Emil Hasanov made opening remarks.
The, the meeting participants elected Society`s officials. Member of the Veterans Society Ivan Bashin was elected as chairman.
The agenda included questions of strengthening of friendly and co-op ties, establishment and development of mutual relations. Meeting adopted the Program of the Friendship Society. The Program covers economy, education, science, culture, tourism, sports and other fields. The projects will be implemented both in Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
The Society has some 80 members currently.
After the meeting, participants acquainted with the exhibition prepared by Mrs. Vesna Chrnivets narrating about the Lahich settlement of Ismayilli region of Azerbaijan.
