NKorea to deliver retaliatory strike, if SKorea holds fire drill.
PYONGYANG, December 17 (Itar-Tass) - North Korea stated that the
country will not tolerate South Korea's live fire drill scheduled on the
Yeonpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea. If South Korea ignores this demand
North Korea "will deliver a retaliatory strike for the defence of its
territorial waters," the chief of the military mission of the North Korean
People's Army at the bilateral military negotiations said.
Meanwhile, "this strike will be much stronger and the hitting area
will be much wider than the shelling on November 23," he added.
On that day an artillery fire exchange took place between North Korea
and South Korea on the Yeonpyeong Island. North Korea accused South Korea
of a deliberate act of sabotage.
