Russia-Indian relations characterized by strategic partnership - ambassador

NEW DELHI, December 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian-Indian relations have
"entered the level of a truly privileged strategic partnership," Russian
ambassador in India Alexander Kadakin told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The current relations between Russia and India "are distinguished for
their mature nature," he said. "The basic tendency of the recent years is
to deepen Russian-Indian cooperation in conditions of global dramatic
changes."
Ten years ago, he recalled, the two countries signed in New Delhi a
declaration on strategic partnership, which "has added innovation elements
to Russian-Indian ties and in international relations in general."
"Cooperation between Russia and India is currently characterized by an
unprecedented mutual understanding and trust. This is based on similar or
common priorities our countries have in their economic and social
development, in domestic and foreign policy, including approaches to
maintaining peace and security, to forming a new global architecture," the
Russian diplomat stressed.
"Over the ten years following the signing of the declaration,
cooperation between Russia and India has acquired a specific format, it
has entered the level of truly privileged strategic partnership," he
summed up.
