STATE HEAD RECEIVES UNDP REPRESENTATIVE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday Mrs. Sezin Sinanoglu, the UN permanent coordinator and the UNDP representative to Mongolia.
Beginning the meeting, the President has mentioned that Mongolia will celebrate its 50th anniversary of joining the United Nations, and expressed a satisfaction with a good condition of the cooperation between Mongolia and the UN. He has said that Mongolia is carrying on the collaboration with the UN in realizing the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), reducing poverty, environment and peacekeeping operations.
Mrs. Sinanoglu has underlined that the collaboration between Mongolia and the UN has a good condition, and congratulated the President on the first anniversary of the Civil Hall, which has made a new environment in society.
Mrs. Sinanoglu has appreciated a participation of the President in the Copenhagen Conference of UN and active works for abolishing capital punishment. She has added that the UN will render assistance to Mongolia to strengthen justice and human rights and to create job places from mining revenue.
The President has mentioned that Mongolia reached agreements with the UN in economic sustainable development, in social basic services, in environment and governance after talking the aid to be rendered from the UN in 2012-2016. Ts.Elbegdorj has expressed thanks to the UN for organizing assistance program to Mongolia in times of disasters.
