INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT IN STATISTICS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first 11 months of 2010, the total industrial output increased by MNT 180.4 billion or 12.0 per cent to MNT 1685.5 billion (at 2005 constant prices) against the previous year.
The increase in the industrial output was mainly due to 23.5-94.9 per cent increase in main mining and quarring products such as crude oil, and coal; 11.0-78.2 per cent increase in manufacturing products such as milk, yogurt, fodder, metal foundries, flour, soft drinks, beer, wine, alcohol, metal construction; and 2.2-2.4 times increase in products such as mutton, goat meat, steel casting, and iron ore.
Industrial output (at 2005 constant prices), in the first 11 months of 2010, showed increase in mining of coal and lignite extraction of peat (94.9%), extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (23.5%) and other mining and quarrying (24.2%) for the mining and quarrying sector; manufacture of rubber and plastics products (84.5%), production of other non-metallic mineral products (41.9%), manufacture of wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur (34.6%), manufacture of food products and beverages (30.1%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (27.6%), manufacture of basic metals (32.5%), manufacture of wood and wooden products (29.6%), publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media (10.8%), manufacture of tobacco products (2.7%) for the manufacturing sector compared to the same period of previous year. For the electricity, thermal energy and water supply subdivision, there was an increase in production of electricity, thermal energy, and steam (6.7%).
