HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND UNEMPLOYMENT IN STATISTICAL MIRROR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ According to results of the survey into socio-economy situation in households by a third quarter of 2010, an average size of cash income in a family reached MNT 425.2 thousand a month increasing MNT 82.7 thousand or 24.2 per cent against the same period of 2009. An average expenditure reached MNT 465.4 thousand increasing MNT 87.8 thousand or 23.2 thousand.
According to the survey into labor force by the third quarter of 2010, Mongolia had 1,192.7 thousand labor active people aged 15 and above, of them 637.0 thousand, or 53.4 per cent, are men.
The survey shows 103.1 thousand people were unemployed by the third quarter, of whom 59.5 thousand are male. The number of the unemployed was 8.6 per cent nationwide, 10.5 per cent--in Ulaanbaatar, 6.5 per cent--in aimags decreasing 1.9 points nationwide, by 3.1--in the city, and 0.4 points--in aimags, against the previous year.
The number of active job hunters registered at Labor and Welfare Service Divisions in aimags and the capital city reached 40.6 thousand at the end of this November increasing 863 persons or 2.2 per cent against 2009.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the increase in the unemployed was caused by increase in Bayankhongor (by 157 people), Khovd (293 people), Dundgobi (299 people), Khentii (333 people), Arkhangai (430 people), Tov (439 people), Omnogobi (472 people) and Zavkhan aimags (881 people).
