Iranian envoys of peace, friendship arrive in Madrid

Madrid, Dec 14, IRNA – Two Iranian cyclists touring the world on saddle back chanting the motto “Environment Protection, Healthy Life, Clean Cities for All” arrived in Spain’s capital city, Madrid, Monday evening.

Abdollah Mesbah and Keramat Aziz-Zadeh who began their world tour on the International Children’s Day in the year 2008 also aim at propagating the grandeur of the Iran and the nation, hoisting the sacred flag of the Islamic Republic around the globe, and setting a new world record in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Mesbah told IRNA, “We also want to promote the culture of the jubilating bicycle riding sport aimed at lowering the pollution level in metropolitan cities, such as Tehran.”

He said that the countries they have cycled through thus far include Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, seven Iranian provinces, Turkey, Greece, Italy and Spain, adding that they have thus far covered a 10.000 kilometer path.

Mesbah added, “In order to promote the culture of “Environment Protection, Healthy Life, and Clean Cities for All we have thus far also planted 2.010 saplings in Iran and abroad thus far.”

Mesbah and Aziz-Zadeh have been cycling professionally during the past 12 years and have thus far had long range tours under the titles “The Always Persian Gulf”, “Environment Protection”, “Support for Children Suffering from Cancer”, “Support for Children with No Guardians, or Bad Guardians”, “Supporting Marine Life of the Caspian Sea”, “Commemorating the Demise Anniversary of Imam Khomeini – P” and… throughout Iran and around the world.

The cyclists added in an interview at the Iranian Embassy in Madrid that their next destinations include Portugal and France, so that during ceremonies marking the glorious anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, dubbed the Fajr Ten Day Feasts, they would be able to plant a sapling in Neufl Le Chatteu, where he resided for a short while prior to the eventual victory of the Islamic Revolution.

After France the cyclists are scheduled to visit Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Holland, and then if they could acquire the needed visas, Canada, the US, the Latin American countries, Japan, China and back to Iran./end
