APSP members urge liberation of Gaza

Tehran, Dec 13, IRNA – Members of the Asian People’s Solidarity for Palestine (APSP) convoy here on Sunday underlined the need for lifting the Gaza siege and liberation of the region.
The convoy, which plans to travel through Iran to Turkey, arrived in Tehran from Qom on Sunday.
The convoy arrived in Iran on Wednesday after completing its land journey in India.
Members of the convoy told IRNA that they will do their best to help lift the gaza siege.
Mojtaba Rahmandoust, secretary-general of the Iranian Defense for Palestinian Nation Association, told IRNA that the convoy has started its 25-day trip from India and will end it to the Rafah border in Egypt after passing through Turkey and Syria.
The convoy is to arrive in the region on December 27 on the 2nd anniversary of the Zionists attack on the Gaza relief aid convoy, he added.
The APSP convoy has been established for supporting the oppressed people of Gaza and collecting aid for them.
The current members of the convoy are from India, Pakistan, Japan, Nepal, Malaysia and Singapore and the latest reports said a large number of activists from Iran, Bahrain, Turkey, Australia, and Azerbaijan are expected to join them.
The siege of Gaza started in June 2007 when Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The blockade has restricted import of basic needs of the people plus materials required for rebuilding the ruins left from Israel’s aggression, as well as the palestinians’ freedom to travel./end
