Canadian charge d'affaires summoned over murder of Iranian national
Tehran, Dec 13, IRNA -- Following the murder of an Iranian national, Yazdan Ghiasvand, in Ottawa, Canadian charge d'affaires was summoned to the Foreign Ministry summoned Sunday.
Director-general of Foreign Ministry's Department for Iranian Expatriates Affairs communicated Iran's protest to the Canadian government over the crime and called for a probe and announcing the outcome of the legal action by the Canadian government.
The Iranian official criticized Canada for failure to arrest the criminals involved in murder of two other Iranian nationals, Zohreh Ehsani and Mrs Dashti, after a lapse of six months since they were killed in cold blood in Canada.
The Canadian charge d'affaires expressed sorrow over the incidents and promised to pursue the cases.
Ghiasvand, 16, riding a car with other people was shot in the chest with two bullets and died instantly. The criminals brought his body out of the car and escaped the scene, police say./end
