Iran condemns France 24 for forging Persian Gulf name
Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA – An official of Iran's Ministry of Culture and the Islamic Guidance condemned here on Sunday the French international news channel 'France 24' for using a false name for Iran's Persian Gulf.
Talking to IRNA, Mohammad-Javad Aqajari, Director-General of the Ministry Foreign Media, said the Persian Gulf is the name well known by the nations throughout the world.
Aqajari further said the existing documents at the United Nations office prove that the Persian Gulf name has been an Iranian one from the beginning.
France 24, which broadcasts news in French, English and Arabic languages, used the false name for the Persian Gulf on Saturday.
