Afghan merchants underline strengthening commercial ties with Iran

Qom, Dec 12, IRNA – A number of Afghan merchants stressed the need to strengthen economic and commercial ties with Iran.

Touring Qom province's industrial and production units, they pointed out that the ground for the two countries' development can be paved by promoting commercial relations.

An owner of a construction company, Abdelaziz Loqmani said that Afghanistan is in dire need of construction materials and tar for building roads.

Therefore, the country's businessmen are more interested in buying such material from Iran, he noted.

Given the cultural and lingual commonalities between the two countries, Afghan merchants planned a trip to Iran.

Loqmnai further noted that in past the Afghan merchants were not given visas but now the problem has been removed and they can visit Iran easily.

'So far, we have traveled to different countries such as China, Cuba, Moscow, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, but the ground for cooperation with Iran is more prepared than the other countries,' he said./end
