Minister: Iranian nation is friend of Afghan people

Kabul, Dec 12, IRNA – Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Abdulreza Sheikh-ol-Islami, by referring to historical, cultural, religious, ethnic and language commonalities with Afghanistan said that Iranian government and nation are friends of Afghan people.

He made the remarks in the inauguration ceremony of the first big rehabilitation center in Kabul.

The center was built in 30 months with one million dollars which was financed by Iran.

In the ceremony, Sheikh-ol-Islami expressed hope that Iran can present more help to its brotherly neighboring country Afghanistan.

Referring to Iranian delegation visit to Kabul, the minister said that the visit should pave ground for constructive relations between the two countries.

Afghanistan Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ameneh Afzali, for her part, praised Iran's assistance in financing the rehabilitation center and said that the center would be very useful and effective for Afghan disabled persons.

Iran’s Ambassador to Kabul Fadahossein Maleki also was among speakers of the ceremony.

Referring to Iran’s commitments in international meetings for rebuilding Afghanistan, the ambassador said that more than 400 million dollars have been spent for development of infrastructures in Afghanistan./end
