Iranian-Afghan ministers discuss issues of mutual interest

Kabul, Dec 12, IRNA – Afghan Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ameneh Afzali and Minister of Immigrants Affairs Jamahir Anvari met separately with Iran’s visiting Minister of Labor and discussed issues of mutual interest with him here on Saturday.
In the meeting between Ameneh Afzali with Abdulreza Sheikh-ol-Islami, the Afghan minister appreciated Iranian delegation visit to Afghanistan and called for stronger cooperation between the two countries.
She praised Iran’s government and nation cooperation during Afghan jihad and resistance and added that right now there are around 3 million Afghan immigrants in Iran and we will never forget Iran's assistance.
The Iranian minister called Afghanistan an old friend of Iran with vast historical and cultural relations.
He stressed that, considering wide cooperation ground between the two countries, Iran is interested in more interaction and development with Afghanistan.
Jamahir Anvari, in a separate meeting in venue of Iran’s embassy in Kabul, on Saturday evening appreciated Iran's efforts and cooperation in hosting Afghan immigrants in the past 30 years.
He said that 60 settlements have been built for Afghan immigrants here which lack infrastructures in the fields of electricity, sanitation and water.
Anvari asked for Iran’s help to return immigrants and provide them with occupation and settlement in Afghanistan.
The Iranian minister said that every country has special regulations for accepting foreign citizens and Iran is confronting with illegal entrance of foreign citizens.
He added that just one third of around 3 million Afghans immigrants in Iran have legal status here./end
