Iran’s strongly-worded letter sent to UN secretary general

New York, Dec 11, IRNA – Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative in the UN in a strongly-worded letter to the UN secretary general and heads of General Assembly and Security Council, criticized their passive stands vis-a-vis assassination of the country's scientists
Mohammad Khazaei's letter, which was published in the UN on Friday, condemned the terrorist, inhuman and criminal acts of the assassination of Iranian scientists.
Referring to the recent terrorist attacks against renowned scientists Majid Shahriari and Fereidoun Abbasi Davani, Khazaei added that it was not the first time that Iranian experts and scientists in peaceful nuclear program, were targeted by such attacks and just in last year another Iranian scientist Masoud Alimohammadi was killed .
The ambassador further stressed that Iran expects the UN, in the framework of its responsibilities, to condemn such terrorist acts and pave the ground by effective steps for elimination of terrorism.
He continued that although known hands and the Zionist circles execute such terrorist acts to deprive Iran of its peaceful nuclear program, but these behaviors and political pressures cannot stop Iranians to pursue their right for nuclear activities.
Khazaei underlined that Iran would not compromise on its inalienable right for peaceful nuclear activities.
He asked the UN secretary general that the letter be published as a document of the Security Council and the General Assembly./end
