MCOT co-hosts “Forbes Asia Fabulous 50 and Businessman of the Year Award"
BANGKOK, Dec10(TNA)-MCOT Public Company Limited or MCOT, in which Thai News Agency (TNA) is a major arm, co-hosted the “Forbes Asia Fabulous 50 and Businessman of the Year Award" ceremony with Forbes Asia in Bangkok Thursday night (Dec9), marking the first time that the prestige event was organised in Thailand.
The event brought together captains of industries and businesses from across Asia to award 50 listed companies which the editors of Forbes see as strong performers in their fields. The companies do not necessary need to be the biggest or the richest, but they have to have the best aggregate scores for long-term profitability, sales, and earnings growth, as well as projected earnings and stock-price gains in their respective markets in order to make it on the Forbes Asia magazine annual list.
Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij (กรณ์ จาติกวณิช) also attended the event, which included a closed-door round table discussion on regional economic prospect next year among chief executive officers or CEOs of Asia firms.
This year's Forbes Fab 50 Asia list is dominated by companies from India and China. But three companies from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN are also included on the list, namely Thailand’s Banpu (บ้านปู) Public Company Limited, Singapore’s Olam International and Indonesia’s Bank Central Asia.(TNA)
