DEFENSE MINISTER BOLD MEETS VIETNAMESE COUNTERPART

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ During his official visit to Hanoi, the Minister of Defense of Mongolia L.Bold held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phung Quang Thanh.
During the meeting, the Ministers agreed to restore the traditional historical ties in the defense sector, including a legal framework for cooperation to stabilize visits and relations in this sector, to send representatives to events organized in their countries, such as participation in military command annual hands-on training exercises "Khan Quest" in 2011.
In addition, the parties have agreed to implement an establishing of a contact between the military hospitals of the two countries in order to realize a mutual exchange of military personnel who are to participate in various sports and cultural activities and in education in schools of Defense of both countries.
On Thursday, Mr. Bold paid a visit to President Nguyen Minh Triet. During the meeitng, Bold conveyed greetings to the President from Mongolia's Head Ts.Elbegdorj.
In turn, the President Minh Triet thanked the Mongolian side for making a business form the reconstruction and development of the bilateral relations in the defense that had been raised during his visit to Mongolia in 2008 at invitation of the President of Mongolia.
He noted that the visit of Defense Minister of Mongolia, occurring the first time in his country, has opened a new chapter in the history of the interrelation.
