DPRK, China reach consensus on situation in Korean Peninsula.
BEIJING, December 9 (Itar-Tass) -- The Chinese Foreign Ministry has
confirmed the information on reaching a consensus on the situation in the
Korean Peninsula at talks of member of the Chinese State Council Dai Bingo
in Pyongyang, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Jiang Yu told a
briefing on Thursday.
The diplomat confirmed that member of the Chinese State Council Dai
Bingo, who is in charge of foreign policy issues at the Chinese
government, visited the DPRK and reached a consensus on the situation in
the Korean Peninsula at talks with the DPRK leadership there.
As the news agency Xinhua reported on Thursday, DPRK Leader Kim Jong
Il had a meeting with Dai Bango. "Both sides have reached a consensus on
bilateral relations and the situation in the Korean Peninsula," the report
says.
"We confirm this information, however, I cannot give details of these
talks so far," Jiang Yu told journalists.
