FOREIGN MINISTER IN THAILAND

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ An official visit of Mongolia's Foreign Minister G.Zandanshatar started Monday in the Kingdom of Thailand. The visit is happened to coincide with the birthday of His Highness Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand, and the National Celebration of Thai people.
The Foreign Minister has been received by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who visited Mongolia two times before. Mr. Zandanshatar appreciated a significant contribution of the Princess to developing the Mongolia-Thailand relations and cooperation and to strengthening the mutual understanding between the peoples. He also highly spoke she activities for friendship of the world people and goodness for international children, including Mongolian ones. Then, realizing a decree of Mongolia's President, G.Zandanshatar granted the Princess the North Star Order, and has conveyed greeting of Mongolia's President to His Highness Bhumibol Adulyadej and his family.
In her turn, the Princess has thanked for the prize and asked to convey her greeting to the State Head of Mongolia. She has expressed a satisfaction with a development of Mongolia in democratic and market ways, underlining an importance of women's role, responsibility and participation in the political and social frames in Mongolia. She has mentioned that she is interested in Mongolia and wished the Mongolians all the best.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was born April 2, 1955. She is the third daughter of the Thai King His Highness Bhumibol Adulyadej. She graduated the Chulalongkorn University in 1976 majoring in culture and arts studies, then became doctor of philosophy in educational development in Srinakharinwirot University in 1986 with a thesis "Development of an Innovative Design for the Instruction of Thai Language at the Upper Secondary School Level". She speaks English, French, German, Chinese, Khmer and Pali-sanskrit languages. In the last 30 years she has been working as assistant and personal secretary for the His Highness Bhumibol Adulyadej visiting many countries including Mongolia. After she visited Mongolia in 1992, the Princess wrote a book named “Airag” which contributed to propagandizing Mongolia in Thailand. The Princess is one of the most respected persons in Thailand because she had initiated many programs and funds to help the poor and the disabled and to improve their livelihood. For example, she has executed a supply of 230 tons rice, one ton medicine and foods to the Red Cross Society. During a visit to Mongolia in 2009, she started a model project called “School Lunch” in a secondary school of Tov aimag's Altanbulag soum. In 1991, the Princess was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service. Moreover, the Prize of Honor of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other prizes have been awarded to her. She also has received honorary doctor degrees from some 40 universities and institutes.
