Jalili urges Ashton to provide answers on Zionist regime's nukes

Geneva, Dec 8, IRNA -- Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili here Tuesday called on European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton to respond to Tehran's question on the stance of the G5 plus 1 on the nuclear arms program of the Zionist regime.
Meeting with Ashton during the third round of Iran-G5 plus 1 talks in Geneva earlier in the day, Jalili stressed it was a very important question for the 5 plus 1 group to answer as to which countries have equipped the Zionist regime with nuclear weapons since this was a clear and blatant violation of the NPT (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty).
Iran has repeatedly urged the G5 plus 1 to adopt a position on the nuclear arms program of the illegal Jewish state which has become a thorny issue for the western allies of the Zionist regime, notably the United States and Germany.
Muslim and non-aligned countries have openly accused the West of hypocrisy in tolerating Israel's atomic buildup while condemning Iran for its nuclear activities which are under the full control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In one of the world's worst-kept secrets, Israel has become a nuclear giant. It is estimated to have hundreds of atomic weapons, an arsenal that ranks it fifth among nuclear powers and dwarfs the programs of India, Pakistan and North Korea.
Though warning of the danger from other countries, Israel is the only nation that has ever brought the Mideast to the brink of nuclear war.
Yet it has maintained a policy of 'deliberate ambiguity' about its own nuclear capabilities even as it bombed an Iraqi reactor in 1981 and pressured other countries to disarm./end
