Courtney claims V8 award double

Just a day after claiming his maiden V8 Supercar title, James Courtney has made it a
double by winning the sport's best and fairest award - the Barry Sheene medal.
Awarded to the driver who shows outstanding leadership, personality, fan appeal and
sportsmanship throughout the season, Courtney was a popular choice at the V8s end of
season awards dinner in Sydney on Monday.
It completes a unique double for the Ford star, after his 14th place in Sunday's
final race of the season was enough to hold off the challenge of Holden's Jamie
Whincup to win the 2010 driver's title.
But two-time champion Whincup didn't end the year empty-handed, taking out the
year's award for most pole positions while his TeamVodafone outfit was awarded the
champion team of the year and best presented team awards.
Ford star Paul Dumbrell capped off his good end to the season with his No.55 Falcon
given the most improved car award.
Holden was awarded the champion manufacturer prize while the Sydney 500 was named as
the best event of the year.
