Harry Potter works magic at box office



Harry Potter continues to work his magic at the Australian box office, enjoying a
third straight weekend at the top of the rankings.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the latest instalment in the hugely
successful franchise, took more than $3.3 million at the weekend. Overall the film
has taken more than $31.2 million at the Australian box office, figures released by
the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia on Monday show.
Due Date, the Robert Downey Jr comedy, had its second weekend at number two, taking
almost $1.8 million at the weekend.
Animated film, Megamind, took just under $800,000 on its first weekend of previews
to finish in third spot, while horror flick Devil, also in its opening weekend, took
under $500,000 for fourth place.
The Naomi Watts film, Fair Game, and The Social Network rounded out the top six.

10. Red Hill - $64,553 (Sony Pictures)
