Indonesian official: Sanctions make Iran stronger

Tehran, Dec 6, IRNA - Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives of Indonesia said here on Monday that West’s endeavors for imposing trade sanctions against Iran are not successful.
Talking to reporters in Tehran, Irman Gusman said such sanctions have made Islamic Republic of Iran stronger in the fields of economy and other arenas.
“We are so sorry that a number of countries have imposed sanctions against Iran,” he said, adding “we believe that the sovereignty and authority of each country should be respected.”
Referring to Iran’s thousands of years of civilization, Gusman said Indonesia attaches importance to expansion of ties with Iran.
He said Tehran-Jakarta trade value stood at dlrs 700 million, and called for fostering mutual economy ties.
