President off to southeast Iran to inaugurate railroad project
Tehran, Dec 6, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad departed here early on Monday for the Chabahar port city in Sistan-Balouchestan province, southeastern Iran, to inaugurate construction operation of a railroad project.
After being completed, the 1,350-km railroad will link Chabahar to the provincial capital city of Zahedan in Sistan-Baluchestan province crossing the provincial cities of Iranshahr and Khash. It will finally reach the holy city of Mashahad in the northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan.
The project will help development of eastern Iran and also facilitate rail transit to neighboring states./end
