Ban still silent on terrorist acts against Iranian scientists

New York, Dec 4, IRNA – Silence of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on assassination attempts against two Iranian scientists continues and even his spokespersons refrained from talking on the issue.
IRNA correspondent at the United Nations in an exclusive interview with Martin Nesirky, the spokesperson for the secretary-general asked whether the UN chief was informed of the terrorist operations against the two Iranian scientists or not.
Nesirky said that he has personally informed the secretary-general of the issue, but as his colleague, Farhan Haq, acting deputy spokesperson for the secretary-general had previously said, presently there is no reaction regarding the issue.
Terrorists exploded the cars of two Iranian scientists and university professors, Majid shahriari and Fereydoun Abbasi in separate places Monday morning. Shahriari was killed immediately after the attack but Abbasi and his wife escaped the bombing attack with minor injuries.
Asked whether the UN chief could have similar reaction towards any similar incidents in the occupied Palestine, Nesirky had no answer to the question.
'Isn’t the secretary-general’s silence regarding the terrorist operations against two Iranian scientists an indication of the double-standard towards the issue of terrorism', IRNA asked. Nesirki again had nothing to say.
He only said that at the present time he had nothing more than what Farhan Haq had said on Thursday./end
